"The Sound of Cartone" — The First Cardboard Gypsy Guitars in History
We’re honored to announce a world exclusive: the arrival of the first-ever cardboard gypsy guitars, crafted by Italian luthier Marco La Manna, inspired by the 1862 papier-mâché masterpiece of Antonio de Torres and the pioneering spirit of Mario Maccaferri.
After six months of research, testing, and refinement, Marco achieved the impossible —a Selmer type jazz guitar made of an engineered multilayer reinforced cardboard that doesn’t just play…it sings with power, clarity, and character that rival traditional wooden instruments.
Presented at Mondomusica 2025, the two prototype “twin” instruments will soon begin their journey:
