Jon Larsen: DJANGO LIVES! Photographic Treasures from Hot Club Records This is a photo book like nothing you have seen before! For nearly half a century Hot Club Records has been the motor in the revival of Django Reinhardt’s music, and here is the book with the most amazing treasures from their fantastic photo archive. Join the masters of gypsy jazz backstage, on the road, and in the recording studios while they are creating their masterpieces. Be fly on the wall during the recording of Angelo Debarre’s iconic Gypsy Guitars, The Rosenberg Trio’s Seresta, Jimmy Rosenberg and Bireli Lagrene’s One And Only, and Fapy Lafertin’s Fleur de Lavende, just to mention a few of the 650 albums in the HCR catalogue. Which not only consists of gypsy jazz but also jazz legends like Chet Baker, Warne Marsh, Philip Catherine, Ulf Wakenius and Stéphane Grappelli. The book is filled with unique never-before-seen photos of hundreds of the gypsy jazz/jazz manouche pioneers from the seventies until today. Special chapters about the Django festivals, the early pioneers, the instruments, the Parisian cabarets, hundreds of gypsy jazz musicians from all corners of the World, and for the first time; a presentation and covers of the entire Hot Club Records catalogue, complete! A large format (24,5 x 22,5 cm), hardcover, coffee-table book with state-of-the-art print and production. Short text in English. Limited edition, n/1,000 numbered books, signed by Hot Club Records producer Jon Larsen. Five hundred of the books will be put out for sale via Tommy Davy’s DjangoGuitars.com in the US, and the other five hundred by Jon Larsen’s webshop in Norway. Release in September 2026. The book is expected to be sold out fast and become a collector’s item. In connection with the book production, various activities are planned, both in the US, in Europe, and on the Internet.
